A massive LED media board has been installed at Jagalchi Market, attracting a lot of attention.
The Jagalchi Market Office of the Busan Metropolitan City Facilities Management Corporation, in collaboration with Busan-based leading company K-Sys Co., Ltd. (CEO Cheon Byeong-min), has installed a “large LED display measuring 6.5 meters wide and approximately 12 meters tall” on the exterior wall of the Jagalchi Market building in Jung-gu, Busan, starting in September. The total area of the display is 78 square meters, accounting for a full one-third of the building’s height, making it the largest display in terms of vertical size among those installed in Busan. Installed directly across from “BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) Square”—a major tourist destination in Busan famous for the Busan International Film Festival—it holds significant importance both in terms of location and scale.
The Jagalchi Market LED media board spans the entire 2nd to 4th floors of the market building, allowing visitors to check various news and information in real time. Additionally, it features 3D video content designed as public art that complements the Jagalchi atmosphere, presenting sights such as giant sharks and octopuses to offer tourists a variety of fascinating attractions.
An official from the Busan Facilities Corporation stated, “The installation of this massive LED media board will breathe new life into traditional markets that have been stagnant due to COVID-19 and serve as a valuable opportunity to boost efforts to host the 2030 Busan World Expo.” The official added, “We expect it to establish itself as a tourist destination and landmark representing South Korea not only in Busan but also globally.”
