An intelligent kiosk (unmanned comprehensive information guidance system) equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities has been introduced.
K-Sys (CEO Cheon Byung-min), a company specializing in information and communications technology (ICT) display networks, announced on the 18th that it has developed and begun selling "Kiosco," an intelligent kiosk incorporating IoT capabilities.
Kiosco is characterized by its interactive design, which enables two-way communication, remote management, and high-quality components, all focused on user convenience. Equipped with a proprietary intelligent Content Management System (CMS), it allows for the remote management of multiple kiosks. It is also capable of creating and broadcasting desired content in real time.
Operating functions can be customized by weekday, weekend, or time of day, and displayed content can be automatically switched and posted according to a scheduled schedule. Equipped with live monitoring capabilities, it allows for real-time monitoring of the device’s surroundings and the currently displayed screen, enabling immediate response.
Based on an ultra-slim design, it features a high-resolution (FHD, 1080p) LCD panel and an infrared multi-touch panel, adding a touch of sophistication.
K-Sys established a separate subsidiary, Kiosco, to develop the Kiosco brand and secure sales expertise. Through Kiosco, the company plans to focus on targeting franchises, hospitals, public facilities, and small-to-medium-sized retail outlets.
The domestic kiosk market is estimated to exceed 200 billion won this year. While unmanned ticketing, sales, and payment kiosks are driving market expansion, demand for kiosks used for advertising, marketing, and service guidance is also on the rise. According to a report by the Information and Communications Technology Promotion Agency (IITP), the global kiosk market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 9.2%, expanding from $47.3 billion in 2015 to $73.4 billion by 2020.
Cheon Byung-min, CEO of K-Sys, stated, “The key issues in the kiosk market are product reliability, content quality, and prompt after-sales service (AS).” He added, “To establish ‘Kiosco’—the first domestic kiosk brand to meet these three criteria—as the leading brand in Korea, we plan to directly manufacture and supply various models while providing optimal operational management services.”
