An LED billboard capable of displaying video content in high definition has been released. K-Sys (CEO Cheon Byung-min),

a company specializing in display networks, announced on the 13th that it has developed a digital LED sign capable of displaying high-definition text, images, and videos, and launched it under the 'Redot' brand.

The company has developed two types of products: the 'Redot Digital LED' and the 'Redot LED Banner.' The 'Redot Digital LED' has a brightness of 7,000 nits (1 nit is equivalent to the brightness of a single candle), making it more than 10 times brighter than existing LCD signs of the same class. It minimizes the pixel pitch to 5 mm and combines this with a high refresh rate of 2,000 Hz to accurately display desired content in high definition. By adopting

state-of-the-art LED chips and a black mask around the panel, it can play videos naturally even in bright environments.

The 'Redot LED Banner' is a portable LED sign measuring 190 cm in height, 57 cm in width, and 3.5 cm in thickness. It features a thin-film, high-brightness display panel with a 160-degree wide viewing angle, ensuring excellent visibility from any angle. It can be used individually, or two or more units can be combined to create a wide display similar to a billboard.

Content can be updated via a USB flash drive, and when integrated with the digital advertising management solution (CMS) provided by K-Sys, it can be remotely controlled and managed via a smartphone.

K-Sys will exhibit and introduce two models of the 'Redot' at the 'International Broadcasting, Audio, and Lighting Equipment Exhibition (KOBA 2018)' held at COEX for four days from the 15th to the 18th.

The company plans to focus its marketing efforts on large-scale venues such as hospitals, hotels, and department stores, with plans to expand to smaller businesses such as restaurants and mobile phone stores.

Chun Byung-min, CEO of K-Sys, stated, “By installing these displays at store entrances, lobbies, and on interior and exterior walls, we can enhance advertising effectiveness while reducing operating costs.” He added, “We aim to replace the 800,000 outdated lamp-style LED advertising signs currently in use and bring a breath of fresh air to the LED display advertising market.”
