LED Display Board Chun Byung-min, CEO of K-Sys, a company specializing in LED display boards, received a commendation from the Mayor of Busan and a research and development (R&D) grant of 10 million won at the award ceremony for the “4th Busan Science and Technology Innovation Awards.”
The ceremony took place on the 26th at BEXCO Hall 1 during the “9th Busan R&D Week.” Busan R&D Week is hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (BISTEP) and serves as an event to promote Busan’s science and technology for the city’s innovative growth.
The Busan Science and Technology Innovation Award is presented to researchers who have contributed to the revitalization of the local economy—such as increased sales and exports—through the successful commercialization of cutting-edge science and technology R&D. Recipients are selected through a three-stage expert evaluation process that assesses: △ technological excellence in R&D, △ market potential related to technology commercialization, and △ business viability and contribution to the revitalization of local industries.
CEO Cheon Byung-min was awarded the Busan Metropolitan City Mayor’s Award in recognition of his contribution to the industrial development of Busan through the development of a “high-efficiency LED display incorporating an integrated hub board with standby power reduction functionality.”
CEO Cheon Byung-min stated, “Based on our in-house R&D center, K-Sys has been actively investing in the development of innovative technologies in the LED display sector,” adding, “We were able to receive the Busan Science and Technology Innovation Award as a result of our contribution to the national energy conservation policy and the creation of new local jobs through the development of high-efficiency LED displays.”
Meanwhile, K-Sys is a specialized LED display company whose product was designated as an “Excellent Product” by the Public Procurement Service—the first such designation for an information display in Korea. As the official distributor in Korea for NovaStar, a global controller manufacturer, the company provides “integrated LED display solution services” that meet global standards to the domestic market.
